HomeGLOWS Services

On Sundays, we partner with the Salvation Army Garland to offer church services, Sunday School and lunch. Sunday School is from 10:30-11:00 a.m., church is from 11:00 a.m. to noon, and lunch is from noon to 1 p.m. each week.

On Wednesdays, we offer an evening meal from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army Garland.

The Salvation Army Garland is also opening as a cooling station when temperatures are 95 degrees or above, or the heat index is 100 degrees or above, on Monday through Friday from 9 to 5. Go to the administrative building and take the right ramp where the sign says Cooling Station. Knock on the door. Folks are welcome to hang out inside, stay cool and enjoy water and snacks.

We also try to provide information on housing, jobs, medical assistance and other resources our friends need to improve their situations.

We open the overnight shelter when the wind chill forecast is 32º or less with a standing 20% chance of precipitation, or standing wind chill of 28º or less with no precipitation. We watch the National Weather Forecast, which is often different from the local forecast.

We provide cots, blankets, boxed/bagged meals, snacks and friendly faces.

We also allow our friends to bring their pets and provide kennels and food for the dogs and cats that are also our guests.
