As you know, we are opening the shelter starting Friday, January 23, 2026.

Please consider signing up to help us keep the shelter open. Most of the time, we are just asking for 4 hours of time from you to save a life!

BUS ASSISTANT

We will be providing bus service on Friday evening and again on Tuesday Morning. We need one person for each shift. Friday starts at 5:45PM and Tuesday starts at 6:45AM. If you can help with either shift:

Please do not drop off clothing donations at the gym. If you would like to donate blankets, coats, gloves, scarves, etc., please drop them off at Garnell McMichael's home, 2910 Prescott Dr., Garland, TX 75041. She can size and sort and then get them to those who need them at the gym.

GLOWS is a coalition of agencies, churches, organizations and individuals working together to assist our unhoused and disadvantaged friends.

GLOWS provides safe, temporary overnight shelter to our unhoused friends during extremely cold weather in the winter time. We also partner with the Garland Salvation Army to provide a cooling station during extremely hot days.

GLOWS provides hot meals twice weekly at the Garland Salvation Army: lunch on Sundays from noon to 1 p.m., and dinner on Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
